Calcification

I was recently diagnosed with a calcified bicuspid aortic valve. My questions are: what exacly is this type of calcification? What might lead to this happening? Can this process be reversed or halted? Is there a diet program set to deal with this? I was in shock when I was told and wasn't prepared to ask questions. I've since began researching about this not- uncommon condition but there's more I must find out of what I can do for myself.
