Over the last few years I have found it difficult to maintain, and therefore advance or enjoy, a periodised body/power building routine. The demands of family and career have, rightly so, been prioritised over endless hours at the gym and the recuperation required from 2xshoulder reconstructions and a torn adductor longus have only added to the problem. Yes, if you are thinking about it, the injuries were resultant from the absolutely crazy routines and improper technique that were en vogue in the 80's and early 90's.
Anyway the last 12 months have seen me take a more relaxed approach to training and this approach has in turn allowed me to experiment with aerobic/anaerobic hybrids, sandbags and logs, bodyweight exercises and, if I am correct, the list will eventually include circular strength training. I train for many reasons but at the moment enjoyment is the prime motivator.
For the record I am 37, I have been very strong, very lean, very big, very fit, very weak, very fat, very small (ish) and very unfit.
Thanks in advance for the wisdom I may acquire in this forum.
