First of all, I would not like to thank Mapquest.com for getting us (and a few others) lost on our way to the Carnival. After receiving help from an elderly couple on the opposite side of Trenton, we finally made it to Mercer County Park. Upon entering the picnic area, I could see a group of fellow Tribe members playing with their Clubbells. This was a beautiful sight.
Anyway, we showed up at the beginning of a rest period, which allowed us to have time to register and say "hello" to a few familiar faces and a bunch of new ones. Once again, it was great to put faces with the names that I see here on the forum.
After break, we did some Catch-22 and ABC training with Chris. Not only did he do a great job at showing us the movements, but also was very aware of each individuals performance and able to help them to understand what was not understood.
Next up, Bodyflow with Dave. Dave did a great job at helping people to learn some elementary biomechanics. From there, he defined the term "kinectic chain" by showing us a few examples. It was impressive to see the movement of the participants improve as they followed along with the demonstration.
Break Time: During this break, we did the "Strongman Challenge". WOW! Just to see the 80# Clubbell is somewhat enthralling. I was impressed by 3 things during this event: 1)The number of people that tried the "challenge". 2)The form my brother, Jason, displayed while completing the task. 3)And myself, for coming within inches of a full press on my second try. I think everyone deserves another round of applause.
And to finish out the day, Slade introduced Softwork to the people. I had to leave a little early, and was not able to play the rest of the day with Slade. But from what I had seen and heard while saying "goodbye" and heading off towards the car, Slade is a very thorough instructor who has tons of fun while instructing.
Also, to let everybody know, I came home with the "Grand Prize", which means alot to me. With my birthday falling on the day before the Carnival, winning was like receiving a present from my CST family. Thank you.
Last but not least, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to those who set up this spectacular event, those who shared their insight, and those who came to experience what RMAX has to offer.
I was honored to play with everyone. :D
