View Full Version : First Day on NHE
Carbed up and went to a workout with other members of the all powerfull Philly Kettlebell Club. Snatched the 2.5 for 3/3 and snatched a 95 lb KB for singles. Felt very strong. Was it the carbs -the people - the placebo effect -time will tell.
Will do a high rep "burn off" workout tomorrow, carb up again wed or thurs depending on schedule.
Probably be at least a month until anything will be able to be said for sure.

Curious as to what you ate on your carb up.

I am curious as well.
Bill, I think it's awesome that you are open-minded enough to try out NHE. Hopefully it works out for you. I always feel stronger the day after a carb load. Don't be surprised if you gain ten pounds because of water retention :) I am leaning out nicely, following NHE. Obviously Ellis and Faigin clash, no doubt. However, NHE has been working for me, so, I figure I must be doing something right. I am still reading UDS and in the process picking up a ton of valuable information. As I said though, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. For now, NHE is definitley working for me.

I wouldn't have been on low-carb all these years if not for experimenting. I am also a" don't fix it" type, but enough very well informed people have supported the carb cycling for it to merit a try.
Since I'mnot a no-carber I don't think 10 lbs of water gain is likely. We'll see.

Bill what goals are you looking for, with this change?
Or is it just to see what you can see?

Bill -
I gotta second Humi's notes. I too feel stronger after a carb up day, and I've noticed that with all my carbs coming from sushi, I don't usually have any fog the next day. The weight is steadily coming off for me, and I'm feeling WAY better than I was before I adopted NHE. But of course, pretty much ANYTHING would've been better than that diet - McD's almost every morning, usually for lunch with plenty of fast food selections for dinner and a lot of beer. No wonder I made the spectacular fat boy gains I made!! But I'm glad to hear you're gonna give NHE a try with an open mind. Hope it works out for you. Aloha.

Connie,
I would like to see if I can carry about 5 lbs more muscle at the same body fat for both Kettlebell and OCS sport

Bill,
I am sure you have a solid workout regimen to reach your goals. If you consume enough calories, NHE will help you put on the muscle with very minimal fat. This shouldnt be too difficult at all for ya' :)
