I tried to get started with Warrior Wellness a few weeks ago and ended up with neck pain. I didn't notice it while I was doing the stretching but the next day my neck ached and when I tried WW again I found that the pain increased.

The stretch is the one where you put your chin forward and down and then stretch up and back with the top of your head (if there is a special name for this particular stretch someone please fill me in). When I did this the second day I had pain on the left side of my neck and it radiated down to the back of my left shoulder and a little on the left side of my upper back.

I continued to try this motion for several days but found the pain was still there.

My main question is... should I continue to "work through the pain" or do I run the risk of damaging something? I'm planning on starting WW again soon, but I think I will probably run into the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe,

Discontinue the movement and check with a chiropractor. The radiculopathy sounds like you may have had a slightly bulging disc, and the opening movement may be contraindicated.
