Lately I have been working on translating some articles into Japanese. One of the latest ones is 'What is CST Fitness'. If anyone is interested in reading it you can find it at the link below.

Let me know if there are any mistakes.

Hey Ryan,

The only mistake I could find isthat it wasn't in my written in a language I could read  8)

nice - i like how you wrote what cst is about rather than trying to describe what it looks like. writing lucidly and convincingly in another language is damn tough. kudos.

Maybe I could re-write in Kansan! That is where I am originally from but I believe that would be even harder to read.

Thanks for the positive comments, guys. Couple more on the way. :D

Andy, any you would like to see translated?

actually, i've been finding it hard to persuade my dojo-mates to ditch the static stretching before workouts and focus on mobility drills... if you've got anything that would help there, i'd be really happy to pass it along.

I am guessing that because they have an extra stipe on their belt they don't take you very seriously?

Every Sat. night I meet with a few guys at Hibiki Budokan to work on our stuff. I do this as a study group and it is not in affiliation with ANY organizations over here in Japan. So you might say it is a RMAX study group done with a carry over focus for judo. We use WW, IOUF and Arthrokinetics priciples. Although I love the comradery of the 'dojo' guys I have never had such great practices since starting our little group.

So what I am basically saying is that you ought to start your own group. Doesn't mean you quit your MA. Get a person or two from your dojo to meet once a week to go over some RMAX. They might start talking and seeing the benefits and it could carry over to the 'formal' practice.

In the mean time I will work on some articles for ya.

it's funny - they take my recent performance increases very seriously. for someone who practices once a week, they're pretty surprised that i've gone from "skilled" to "best-conditioned and moves like hell" in two months. what they don't take seriously is this ugly guy telling them in broken japanese that there are better ways to train.

you're right about the training group - i have been doing some extra-curricular practice with a couple of guys before practices, but then we all have to suffer through an hour of meaningless "warm ups" when we could be doing useful work...

i'd love to find some partners closer to home. at any rate, i'm headed back stateside later this year, and my clubs there will be very interested in rmax methodologies. maybe winning the next world champs (2008) will change some minds.

Ugly guy? You talkin' about me? :D

I believe that! Heck, your moves were already pretty slick when we met.

Don't let 'the man' get you down. I know it is hard to get anything done over here in Japan.

It has taken me almost a year to get a 'certain project' able to present it to the Japanese mindset. But during that time I have introduced a lot of people to CST and hopefully with this new project it will be easier to show people what CST is.

I will FINALLY have the new CST Japan home page up this month and it will be in Japanese. Steer some people to it for reference. Hopefully it will help.

The address will be www.CSTJapan.com

Pretty sad that it has to be that way but yeah, that would open some eyes.

On another note. Every Sat. night I am at Hibiki and so are the guys you were training with. I few of them usually stop and watch me when I do Intu-Flow and Prasara / Body Flow. Could be that I am just in their way, though.

yeah, that's how it goes. i bet you're a lot more used to it than i am.

i'm totally going to be keeping up with cst over here - and pointing folks in your direction when i can. those guys at hibiki cold use some intu-flow - they're doing a really karate-esque taido right now, very stiff and kihon-based. still, i'm sure they see lots of potential in the way you move. i plan on heading down there at least once before i ship out this summer, so maybe i can let them see some examples of the carry-over...

anyway, sorry for hijacking your thread. keep up the good work on disseminating the cst gospel to the japanese audience.
