Chris Rubio put up 55 long cycle jreks in North Carloina earning him GS ranking level 2. Very tough stuff since Chris is pretty much on his own with LCs so far.

Rufus put up a 62 total in the Snatch/jerk comp -winning the meet.

Congrats to both.

Thanks, Bill, we had a great time.

I'd like to point out that my score was with 31 jerks and 31/31 snatches. I think I'm the first Yank to break 30 in the jerk here in the us of a. Not a big deal, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

I think the extra shoulder strength, endurance and flexibility came directly from working the cb's and WW

If Rubio allows me to post my section of the video, you'll see my adaptation of performance breathing for jerks and snatches, which helped alot. I stayed calm and relaxed from beginning to end.

So, strong ROM, relaxed performance (minimal over-exertion) and good breath management were some of the keys to makine two PR's for me.

I hope other GSers find that helpful.

Rufus,

I'll be testing jerks after New years day. Hope to break 30, my 22 in Philly were really workout style power jerks. Looking for 40 at nationals to go with 60 snatches. There, I said it. That gives me a lot of leeway since level 2 for me is 90.

What's your weight and age.

Your right on about the breathing/shoulder/ROM carryover. Hope to meet you and Chris in VA. Congrats again.

Thanks, Everyone!

Bill, 6'2", 212, 26 yrs old.

40 jerks, 60 snatches sounds great, man. Assuming I do traditional in May, I want at least 40-45 on jerks and snatches.

We shall see.

You going to the long cycle comp in feb? It should be fun.

Congratulations. Your hard and smart training paid off.

Things ought to get very interesting in 2004, considering the numbers being put up now.

Rufus,

Not planning in competing - except in-house with the PKC, until nationals. As you can imagine PKC workouts are can get damn close to any comp in the country
