International silver medal - Bikram yoga

At the The Third Annual International Yoga Asana Championship - Bishnu Charan Ghosh Cup, my teacher, Sarah Baughn, took the silver out of 11 countries. I'm very proud of this young girl, her dedication and her drive to put it on the line. Congratulations, Sara!

Yes, there are competitions. Lots of competitions in India.

We were talking about this just recently and how some people abhor competition. But from a CST perspective, it's an important third of the equation:

Some people assume that because there is competition that it somehow supplants the concept of practice (or training for that matter.) It does not. They are very distinct and generative concepts.

What do they do in a yoga competition?

Demonstrate asana and vinyasa.

And in some competitions - rope work and pillar work.

Coach Wilson and I were discussing a training trip to India this year, so we might try and find one to compete in.
