View Full Version : Need help with side to side neck movement

I have been working the joint recruitment and mobility exersices from fisticuffs. I have no trouble with any of the movements except for the basic side to side along the mandible plane. When I try to proform the drill my head will either tilt or turn toward the direction of the movement, instead staying forward.

I figured that it is due to the lack of use in that range of motion, simular to having frozen shoulder. Is there any other drills I can preform to help recover that range of motion or should I just keep trying to proform the exersice?

Thanks,
Bill

I'm assuming this is the same movement as the Warrior Wellness and Intu-Flow ..."

If you do a search with the terms "warrior" "wellness" and "assistance"
OR
"egyptian" and "assistance"
(or probably some other combinations I haven't thought of) and you'll find previous threads, and links to suggestions.

Be careful though. The assistance exercises helped me, but they also had the psychological effect of reinforcing everything I do into a performance event. As a result, I went under the radar (even my own radar) and went against the appropriate Intuitive Training protocol and everything Coach Sonnon does his honest best to make crystal clear, and hurt myself. Duh.

Best advice for me would have been (after being thrown to the floor) : Knock it off, take a break, do not judge yourself, accept your body where it is, and go forth gently on this.

Just thoughts...

(EDIT: Coach Sonnon's post came in while I was writing this one, ever so slowly...)
