    fibonacci sequence and nutrition

Is there a connection between the fibonacci sequence and nutrition? I was reading an article from Kathleen Desmaison of Radiant Recovery where she talked about how she would feel the effects of what and when she ate food 4 days later. The fibonacci sequence also follows a 4 day pattern for peaking. I wonder how we could make appropriate adjustments in our food plan (timing and content of nutrition) to coincide with the fibonacci sequence. Have folks explored this?

Coach Connie Brown might have some stuff to say about this. She works closely with Kathleen.

    This is an interesting question...

I have not. 4 in the Fibonacci sequence is the sum of the first 3 = 1, 1, 2. Maybe you can play with this in your own practice?

Kathleen's 4 day thing is from her observation over years of work and thousands of clients. That it takes about 4 days for a flood of beta-endorphin to dry out and make the receptors scream for more. That's all it is, is an observation at this point.

Is the flood of beta-endorphins (BE) the same as a BE spike?
Is the flood of BE caused by eating sugar or white flour, skipping meals, creating drama, that sort of thing?

I'll play with this and see what I find.

    Thank you Coach Connie.

Actually, I've observed the four day cycle to be how the fib sequence manifests in performance: medium, high, no, low.

In "The Diet Code", Lanzalotta talks about the Fibonacci sequence in relation to food proportions and "phi" (the Golden Ration), which is the ration of a Fibonacci number to the number in the sequence before it.

And there was a book titled "Consistent Winning" back in the 90's which detailed workout volume/intensity scheduled that incorporated back off and rest days according to the sequence. It has a lot of CST elements to it, but without the complexity and elegance of the actual prasara/bodyflow approach - they just talked about running mileage and "Ironman" style training.

It makes sense to me that if the body's energy systems rise and fall (and respond to training) in a FS sense, that the digestive and hormone systems would as well.
