I've been off for a while now and love the new look! i have a major problem that i hope someone can help me with. I just returned from the chiropractor office and the X-rays show i have Spodylo listhosis of the 5th lumbar (L5). i can guess what caused it to the day. my question is this will Intu-Flow® help? or am i doomed?!?!j/k
i was hopeing someone would tell me more positive notion than lower pain and hold off surgey.

I am wondering if you discussed Intu-Flow with your chiropractor and got his/her thoughts on it as part of your therapy?
Also, was your chiropractor recommending surgery in your case?

no he did not say that, but he did say that it was not fixable from his stand point. i tried to explain Intu-Flow® to him and he didn't quite understand what i was saying and showing him wasn't going to happen after he racked me

Racked = adjusted? I'm not sure what you mean. Were you in pain after the adjustment? Or was he moving onto his next patient?showing him wasn't going to happen after he racked me
I would encourage you speak to him about it, or perhaps your MD. Perhaps take the video with you on your next visit. Since he's already indicated your condition is not 'fixable', you at least want to find out if the movements are contraindicated (not going to cause your condition to deteriorate) before you jump into any new program, even one as beneficial as Intu-Flow.
That's probably not the answer you want to hear, but you need to know you're not going to sacrifice your health in your quest to solve this. There is an article that Coach Sonnon wrote a while back, about healing from the outside in (starting Intu-Flow away from an injured area and moving in towards it as discomfort decreases) that might give you some ideas in the meantime. But I have to find it first.

lol sorry i should have said adjustment. it just leaves a cold burning in my back everytime he does it.

You should take IF to your chiropractor and let him/her explore it to see if it is apporpriate for you, and/or if it could be modified for you.
It might help you to know that there are a lot of people walking around with a spondylolisthesis who have no pain or discomfort. Some of them are even completely unaware that the condition is present. What brings them in is often that they did an activity which led to inflamation of the area and resulted in pain. So while it can be a chronic problem, it isn't always. There is a time and place for surgery, but typically that occurs after a recent traumatic event causes further displacement, and if that is the case with you then you and your health care team need to decide what is appropriate for care.
While there is no way for me to know the degree to which your problem exists, if you are being told that you will just have to lower the pain until it is time for surgery, you might want to consider a second opinion. I treat several people with spondylolisthesis and while they will occasionally have pain from highly intensive work or play, I can think of only one who is in constant pain. He has so many other problems going on that it is difficult to say rather or not the spondylo is the main culprit.
Research you condition some, ask your health care team questions, find out what therapy would be beneficial to you, and learn what you can do to optimize your chances of functioning at your best. There are also things that you definitely don't want to do because it will optimize your risk of having further injury to the area so learn those too.
You should also make sure that you tell your DC about the cold burning that occurs after he adjusts you. I would certainly want to know if one of my patients was having that sensation.
