    The newbie's training journal

This should be fun to read in 6 months when my practice has advanced, eh?

    I just started Intu-Flow®...

    Saturday, 12-30-06
    ~30min I/F (intermediate)
    ~15 minutes sun salutations

Turkey soup, coffee, 4oz raw milk
miso soup, salad, toasted sprouted bread w/butter, handful sprouted almonds
    pumpkin seed and cheese crackers
    taco "rollups" in green lettuce
then I caved and had a dove bar

    Sunday, 12-31-06
    ~30min I/F (intermediate)

Turkey soup (again...I don't want to throw it out!), 4oz raw milk
we'll see what the rest of the day brings...no big plans tonight as hubby has to "protect and serve" our lovely town.

    Thanks Adam!

Not that I'm trying to rush anything, but does anyone have any suggestions for how to progress and at what rate I should move forward? How do I "grow" my practice? Keep in mind that I have high expectations and often times over extend myself...I work full-time, have 2 little boys to tend to when I get home from work and have just begun working toward my MBA (and I should mention I need to get to bed by 9pm to be a functioning human being at 4 am ). I think I can carve out 30-45 minutes of "workout time" at least 5 days a week.

    So...with that, I'll sign off.

The rate of your progression will depend on how your body responds to your "cleaning the slate" or removing restrictive forces. As discussed in the Intu-Flow® DVD, keep track of your Rate of Perceived Discomfort(RPD) and Rate of Perceived Technique(RPT). When you have a RPD < 3 and a maintained RPT > 8, then it is time for you to advance your Intu-Flow® progress. This can mean going further into the range of motion or depending on the amount of time put in, go up a level.

Given your time frame and your enthusiasm for yoga, I think a good next step for you would be FlowFit®.

So that's what those abbreviations were!!! Duh!
RPD during the session is 0
A day after, I can feel my shoulder muscles and glutes but it's not painful (<2).

RPT=I'll have to get back to you...perhaps I should practice in front of a mirror.

    Thanks Pflan...
