    Warning! Newby on board!

    Hello,

My name is Dave Hoots. I decided to join the forum after using a set of 5-lb clubbells, along with a single 10-lb Clubbell®.

I've used the clubbells to faciliate full ROM for my right shoulder after a thyroidectomy.

I'm due for back surgery (microdiskectomy) next week, and could use some guidance as to proper form and best exercises for rapid recovery.

I'm located in Denver, Colorado, and am a 53-year-old male (if that matters!)

    Cheers,
    Dave

Welcome, Dave. Does your handle "tandemite" mean you ride tandems? (which is only one of the finest froms of locomotion ever invented!)

Regarding recovery from your surgery, it's best to work closely with your health care pros, get clearance etc. before embarking on an exercise program. What CST material do you have & is it possible for you to have them look at it so it's compatible with any other rehab?

Once you're fully recovered and cleared to proceed by the medicos, you can check back here to discuss what your health & fitness goals are, and for help with reaching them.

    My handle, etc.

    Jeanne,

My handle refers to a former employer -- that's all.

Actually, the physical therapist recommended the 5lb clubbells. I was familiar with Rmax before that, though, having the "Flow Fighting" videotape.

Now that the back surgery is behind me (so to speak), I'll talk to my surgeon about the best recovery means. I'm hoping he'll refer me to the same excellent therapist I had before.

    Cheers,
    Dave
