    Ryan,

One of my favorite pieces so far is the Vanishing Act: http://www.ryanmurdock.com/murdock-vanishing.htm

I've been to some very scary places in my life, but none so marginal as you. I've had to fight for my life in some very seedy streets around the world, but I've always been able to know who the opponent was... unlike you who faces the ubiquitous hazards of these fringe expeditions into Mongolia, Panama, China and North Korea.

Like I said, this was one of the most enjoyable segments so far of your website, because it read like a literary slide show of the adventures which unfolded as you went "off-map" in that way that you do - when you frighten the hell out of me in our travels.

Thanks for your kind words, everybody. I'm really excited about the site and its potential to spread my work much much further.

You know this sorta thing embarasses me, Coach!

The actual hazards in such places aren't what you think. In fact, I won't ever share them with you, for fear of deflating your lofty image of me.

it read like a literary slide show of the adventures which unfolded as you went "off-map" in that way that you do - when you frighten the hell out of me in our travels.
I'm telling ya, if you just trust me and follow my lead it always works out in the end. It just takes a while sometimes, and I admit there can be some rather strange detours... But I do get you there eventually.

Sounds like a summary of your joint hiking adventures you both told me last time we met
