    TACFIT Commando Crew

Hello to all those people who just got TACFIT Commando.

If you have started on with Mission 1 it would be really cool to start up a training journal on this forum.

Together we can progress through the 3 Missions together sharing insights and giving inspiration.

I strongly suggest adding some detail to your journal including thoughts, insights, sensations, new feelings, etc.

That way we can all learn from each other and make the most out of an oppurtunity to create an accountability group!

    Enjoy!

I'm in. How do you want to do this? You and I both have training logs up for Recruit Mission 1.

    Hey Sakinny,

That's it. Just put up a training log on here with 'Commando' somewhere in the title.

I am just attempting to encourage others to get in on it, we have this resource right here on this forum to work with and I think we could go a lot deeper all encouraging each other.

    Let's DO IT.

I was fortunate in that my Clubbell® swipe density evolution ended a day before I got TacFit Commando. I could pick it right up. Well, that and the "oooh shiny" reflex, oh never mind...

I will try to follow Damien's example and post a little more about my observations, and experiences as I go through the mission.

I am not maintaining a training log here right now, but would like to share some observations about my Commando experience so far. I just finished my second high intensity day, first mission on the recruit level. This is my first experience with 4x7, or really any form of scheduled training. Sure, I've cooked up some basic intervals on my own, but nothing very intricate. I'm 31, 5'10", about 168 lbs., and after losing about 12lbs. over the past several months on my own, I'm looking to get to the next level.

I am surprised how much I "get up" for the workout. Some of it is the anticipation of trying to improve technique and points. Some is the anticipation of the struggle. When I press that button on the timer, there is no going back! Like many posters, the push ups are where I really hit the wall. I am realizing that the better I get at the first three exercises (improved technique, more force involved), the harder the push ups are. The movements amplify off each other in a very evil way! I have also noticed that the spinal rock gets more difficult as my technique increases. Again, evil.

It is somewhat of an adjustment for me to adhere to the 4x7 schedule. I am accustomed to a less deliberate, more playful and spontaneous routine, and am finding it a bit constrictive. At the same time, the schedule and log is obviously motivating me in a big way! Perhaps as I progress in CST I'll learn how to find my own balance.

I am sure there is much more to the design of the program than my attempts at reverse engineering have uncovered! I wonder whether anyone could suggest where I could read more about the plan behind the program- for example, does BER speak explicitly about the theory behind 4x7? I may join an online course somewhere down the road, but in the meantime, what is a good and preferably affordable resource for the nuts and bolts behind 4x7?

    Overall, great program!

Today was my third moderate workout on Commando, and I recorded the session to assess my form. To anyone who has the resources to do so, I would highly recommend it! Comparing my technique against Coach Sonnon's, I found ways to substantially improve each of the six movements. In the moment, you can only be so aware of your body position, and this really helped me improve. I'm sure I am not the first one to do this, but thought I would pass on the suggestion anyway.

I must admit that I am struggling with Tacfit Commando. It is intense! I've noticed some others here who are younger and in better condition than me are also feeling challenged in different ways.

In my case, I had inquired about the appropriateness of this program for a beginner/out of shape 55 year old like myself. I was consistently told it was doable. But i find 8 rounds of each exercise way over the top for me. When I asked about this here on the forum, Coach responded to stick with the program (8 rounds) but slow down. I've done that and it helps a little. Yet I don't see the point of this if I am completing 1 Rep (pushups, for example) in 20 seconds for the last 3-4 rounds?
First it no longer seems like Tabata; secondly, it would seem that doing less rounds would make more sense (4-6 rounds?) than pushing for 8 Rounds until I improve my fitness level. This would also seem to match CST's approach of incremental progression.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - I actually love this TFC program yet I may possibly be in the worst fitness condition of anybody here so I'm not sure how to proceed?
Today is Mission 1 Day 11 Moderate & I'm not looking forward to it! Help! Thanks!
