    Question on a newer theory

I watched a show on the Science Channel about Network Science Theory (6 degrees of separation). That got me to thinking if Motor Skills would apply to this theory. They showed how it applied to diseases, the Internet, and people. So far I'm leaning toward yes, but I'd like to hear what the tribe has to say.

    hello,

interesting subject and interesting question. will of course have to look more deeply into it, but at first glance it appears that physical skills fall less into network science theory and more into cybernetic theory (control system theory).

training physical skills doesn't really result in predictive models, as network science seeks to do. such training does increase the efficiency of the body's control system (neural pathways).

while network science may seem to be a driving force in physical skill development, it is not. network science CAN lead to predictive models that define WHEN a physical skill should be used. cybernetic theory will define HOW a physical skill is developed and utilized.

institut helmholtz and gruppe fraunhofer have done a lot of work in these areas and likely have some good information regarding them.

    thanks
