    Sub 10% bodyfat questionnaire..

    All roads lead to the same destination... At least that's what some say.. I'm curious, knuckledraggers, about how those of you who reached sub 10% bodyfat accomplished this feat? High carb, low carb, restricted calories, paleo, vegan, NHE, WD, etc? Also, what type of training regimen were you following? What type of effect did it have on your training (negative, positive, neutral?)? I'm actually considering putting together an article on the variety of ways to reach sub 10% bf (considering this is a goal for many athletic males). Thanks in advance.

    Not really sure. Of course I would be honored if it were to be featured here at CST. The goal of the article is to demonstrate that there is more than one way to reach the goal of sub 10% bodyfat. Beyond that, there's more than one way to reach many goals in life. I know many people who are extremely lean who have taken extremely different paths. The majority of people put off "doing" in favor of looking for the plan that "works". Many don't realize that in the end, what works is what works for THEM. If someone were opposed to eating animal products, I would not reccomend a diet heavy in meats and eggs. Likewise, if someone had a grain intolerance I would not suggest whole grains. Also, many people attempt to emulate a plan/regimen in hopes of obtaining the same results as someone they talked to or read about, only to be dissapointed when their own results fall short of expectations. Is it biochemical individuality? Application of protocol? User error? Can't say for sure. What I can say is that locking one's self into a specific pattern of thinking is detrimental to reaching one's goals. I could go on but it's late and I believe that I am rambling.

    The only time I have ever been below 10 percent was when I was a freshman in college.

    My diet was actually atrocious. Student Union cafeteria food at least 4 times a day. Pizza at night.

    However, my training workload was very high. I ran track 5 times a week. (I was actually a jumper). So lots of running, hill work, and the like. I also was lifting heavily in the weightroom. And napping as much as possible. I was also 19 and have never been considered as being anything but lean.

    I only contribute this, because of the fact that I had no restricted diet. So it seems possible that the combination of genetics and high workload may be enough for some people. Yet I have a training partner who runs triathalons, and is nowhere close to ten percent.

    I've always been below 10%, genetics I suppose. How and ever I am only nudging a buck sixty, so how any future gains affects my BF will be interesting. Currently I'm at about 7.5 - 8% I eat mainly high protein high fat and moderate carb (200-250g)
