    Commando and tacgym

    Hi all,

I'm looking for abit of direction. I have dabbling with cst for a while now and until recently have started and failed many a time. I have just recently manged to complete the 4 spetsnaz missions which i am extremly proud that i have.

My goals have always been movement and power. My problem being is i would love to start tacgym but at the same time commando has become my mountain that i just have to climb. It is the programe that has giving me the most issues mentally in regards to completing and it's something that i feel i must beat.

Now i realise that as i will be starting at recruit level and i should stick to the programme as rx but can i incorperate tacgym into the programme as per the manual on the the lo and mod days and recieve the the full benefits off commando or would a better option to follow commando completly and maybe add 10 or so minutes of practicing the the tacgym movements.

    Any help would great

    Regards
    Adam

Nice work on Spetsnaz. You are surely capable of completing Commando missions. Be sure to follow the intuitive training guide in the Commando manual and the missions will feel less like a competition against the program and more a coach to guide you.

The TACGYM manual does spell out the ability to add TACGYM to the low and mod days of any TACFIT program including Commando. Keep in mind the effort rates for TACGYM on those two days, they are different. Proceed cuatiously, if you need to back off and keep the low day a standard mobility and compensation work then do so. This will allow you to receive the full benefits of Commando and the ability to follow the mission schedules.

Personally, I would recommend following Commando as written, and practicing the TacGym movements on Low intensity days. If you had already completed Commando, my advice would be different.

I would recommend you do Commando straight for at least 3 months (Mission 1, 2 and 3 Recruit Level). Thereafter you can decide if you want to do TACGYM on the Low Day. Still do Commando on the Mod Day though, as it would prepare you on peaking for the High Day.
