Thread: Differences between Survival and the other Tacfit programs.

Differences between Survival and the other Tacfit programs.

Hello. I hope this won't seem offensive or seem rude. I'm asking out of curiosity and ignorance, so if this actually does come across that way, I ask your forgiveness.

I currently have Tacfit Commando, Rope, Kettlebells, and Warrior. I was wondering how much new information is in Survival?

I can cut a few extras to afford Survival. I won't stint my family either way, but if there isn't new or updated information in Survival, than I have other things I should probably prioritize.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like Survival is intended to be a more intense, but quicker workout than the other programs. Is this accurate? With two small boys, I often don't get time to work out until the family goes to bed. If that is the case, that is a HUGE selling point for me, since Tacfit Commando takes close to an hour to finish. I follow the program, but I often get to bed later than I would like.

Another question is how much space is needed for the program. My apartment is fairly small. I was interested in Tacfit gymnastics, but I don't have space to do anything like that. How much space does Survival require? The video I saw looked like it required a bit of rolling around, and I just don't have room.

Again, if this seems offensive or disrespectful, I ask your forgiveness. I don't mean to be. I've just noticed that there is a lot of overlap among the programs, and while that is a good thing in my opinion since I keep getting a better understanding of the Tacfit system with each program I purchase, I want to spend my money wisely.

I thank you for any guidance offered.

    Scott

    Hey bro,
I can't give you a comprehensive answer but I feel bad that time is running out and you haven't gotten any response at all so I'll give what little insight that I can.

I haven't gone through it in detail yet but I have skimmed the materials

From what I've seen so far I don't think that the Survival workout is any shorter than Commando or any of the others. It follows the same TABATA type protocol so its at least as long and when you add in the warm up and cool down may even be a bit longer.

Also I do think that Survival will require a bit more room than Commando.
Where Commando can be done pretty much within the space of a yoga mat, Survival has a few moves where you roll out, sprawl and then step back so its going to require a bit more space.

As for the overlap, yeah there does appear to be some but there's also some new stuff too.
The text is a bit deeper than commando I think. There's some stuff about breathing that I don't recall seeing in Commando and it looks like the principles of TACFIT might be explained in a bit more detail. Like I said, I've only skimmed it though so I can't really be sure if that's true.

The program is the same as far as intervals and rotation goes but there are some new exercises that I haven't seen before and they look pretty interesting.

All in all, it does seem to be different enough to justify the cost especially at the discount price, but if money is tight I wouldn't want to make that call for you.

There are a few better reviews than this available on the net already so I would recommend that you spend some time on google before you spring for the cash.

    Hope this was helpful.

It does. I thank you much for this. After reading your comments, I bought it. I can wait a bit to buy a new epee.

I think the biggest issue is going to be with space, but I figure I'll work out a way to use it. Just the bit I've read about breathing is worth it in my opinion. I'm really kind of excited about this. What I've read about in other Tacfit products is making more sense now. I've been studying Systema, and Survival expands on and explains more fully what I've seen with Systema's breathing. I'm really looking forward to using what I'm reading about tonight when I do my heavy day with Commando. I have the funny feeling what I'm learning here is going to help my fencing performance when I get back into competition.

I thank you for the insights.
