Question Encyclopedia Of Clubbell® vs CST Group eXercise DVD vs

    Hello,
I own The Encyclopedia Of Clubbell® Training DVD set. Does it make sense to purchase CST Group eXercise DVD and / or Clubbell® Training for Circular Strength DVD, or is similar stuff fully included into The Encyclopedia Of Clubbell® Training DVD set?

    Thank you

The stuff in CSTGX is not as involved as what I would guess that Encyclopedia of CB contains (but I have not seen that to make direct comparison) so if it were my $$ and you already had the proper clubs and time I would opt for Clubbell® for CS. Some of the exercises in CSTGX seem dependent upon two identical-weight clubs, and even then at the 5lbs area. There are a few movements that, no sarcasm or offense meant, I would love to see someone do with a couple of Bruisers. Seriously, that'd be neat.

All that said, I bought CSTGX and made my own (horrible) clubs to use. They weigh nearer to 10lbs than the 5lbs that are used by Mr. Sonnon. The DVD kicks my ass. Perhaps I should get the proper set of minis.

An answer from RMAX Support stuff

    Hi Ron,

It's nice to meet Google+ buddy here. My G+ profile is http://www.google.com/profiles/vkelman and fitness-oriented blog is http://fitnessaddictdiary.blogspot.com/.

I actually asked the same question using RMAX ticket mechanism. Here's what they said (very promptly, great service):

    Me:
"I own The Encyclopedia Of Clubbell® Training DVD set. Does it make sense to purchase CST Group eXercise DVD and / or Clubbell® Training for Circular Strength DVD"

    RMAX Support:
"CST Group eXercise DVD - YES.
Clubbell® Training for Circular Strength DVD - NO.
That single DVD was created when RMAX released its first clubbells..."

I decided to ask this question because RMAX is currently offering a 40% discount on DVDs.

Interestingly, in different places they recommend different Clubbell® weights for beginners. In a "purchasing Clubbell® guide" I saw a recommendation to buy 15 lbs clubbells for healthy men, somewhere here on Forum I saw a recommendation to start from 10 lbs.
I actually bought a pair of 15 lbs clubbells and then realized that for many exercises they are too heavy - I'm pretty fit after 3 month of P90X and am training with kettlebells and a dumbbell too, but have weak wrists. So, I bought a pair of 10 lbs clubbells - very expensive stuff.

Clubbell® training is exciting, I'm sure that to fully get all the movements from "Encyclopedia" I would need many months, maybe - a year.

There certainly is a lot to learn. The clubs I made are shameful, really. Hahaha I intend to get the double 15-lbs starter set in the near future and will progress in real fashion. I would love to just get a heavy-guy but my intelligence outweighs my ego. It took longer than I would like to gain that perspective, but I have a couple of 16kg, couple ~24kg, and a 32kg kettles to show for it. So I'm good for a while.

    Hello ,

Did you guys follow why they recommended the group exercise video? Have the moves advanced since 2002?

    Happy training

I have just been following along to the DVD on CSTGX. Not sure what, of these moves, has also made an appearance in newer material. Surely some of the techniques repeat in their form, even from the most basic level.
