How To Control Intensity And Heart Rate

Today, for the first time, I tried TacGym (moderate intensity day) and I choose SNAFU Delta.

I warmed up with some joint mobility and the throttle up technique (from RESET) and I admit it I didn't warm up properly. But the thing was that the workout was very hard for me and I felt that it was beyond my conditioning level, and it wasn't the second wind thing. I even felt that I got to heart rate max while I shouldn't have for moderate intensity.

I did the RESET technique in between rounds and after finishing, and I cooled down with some yoga. But the thing is that I felt like throwing up after I finished, and I know this means that I got to the point where the 'jet fuel' is being dumped into the bloodstream.

So for me, I didn't achieve the the goal of this training session. The question is: What can I do to make sure I'm at the right intensity level for the training session? And I find myself going 'too fast' and I feel my heart rate getting close to max what can I do to get back to the level I want and continue training? So basically what should I have done today during the training session?

    And thanks,
    Chris

Just do a couple reps and take a break. The lower sohistication Snafus seemed a bit more intense than the higher sophistication ones to me. (I just finished doing TacGym, 2 months per sophistication level so that each program was done 8-10 times during the 2 month period.) I did NOT worry about getting reps for the most part - well, except for Fubar, kind of. I was much more interested in form. Fubar is recommended for Mod days only, and believe me, if you try to get 10 rounds of it done in 20 minutes, you will hit HRM. 5 rounds is much more realistic. I would also switch from one program to another (within the sophistication level) so that I didn't repeat one from the low to mod day. Just go through the program for the day at a comfortable pace. TacGym is not meant to be cardio. It's meant to train you to move.

    Decrease number of reps.

    Decrease sophistication.

    Decrease speed of reps.

    Decrease ambient temperature.

...what they all said above, *and*, don't use the throttle up technique.

I mean, basically, you used a breathing technique designed to increase your heart rate, and then complained that your heart rate went beyond what the work called for.
