Question SHOULDER PACK at BOTTOM of PULL-UP?

Are the shoulders supposed to stay packed (and to not raise to the level of your ears) when you are at the bottom (left in the image) position of a PULL-UP exercise?

    Thanks!

I have been wandering one thing about this. I do rock climbing, and often, say after a big reach you are hanging by one arm and need to pull your shoulder down to packed to be able to reach with your other arm as well. How would you advice building strength for this "getting in to pack" movement?

Check out Gold Medal Bodies. They released a free tutorial on the pull up some time ago.
