    Herman,
Seriously great post. Sometimes I forget how different CST can be, because over time, the system becomes intuitive. Your post was a great reminder.

StraightEdge, I think it's worth pointing out that tacfit IS CST. It's the CST system applied to tactical performance enhancement. Anyway, for non-tacfit CST bodyweight programs, you might consider FlowFit®, FlowFit® II, Forward Pressure, Be Breathed, or Bodyweight Exercise Revolution.

You're welcome Straight edge and Cesar.

For bodyweight exercise, one of the best program to start with is FlowFit®. CST Instructors have to "master" FlowFit®. It gives you a good base for your movement vocabulary. Play around with it and you'll realise a lot of the other programs can be reduced to FlowFit®.

a bit of a follow up to this.......

today, I received an email about the new Primal Stress program, which includes the Revive Flow, Flow Physique, and Thrive Flow programs.

so........since this is an RMAX product, would CST and/or Tacfit instructors be allowed to use these new programs to teach and train their clients ( the same with any other RMAX program )?

Instructors are authorized to teach programs that they have been taught and tested in at the certifications.

Example: If you go to the IC for CST, they will cover FlowFit®. Certify, and you can teach FlowFit®. But that doesn't mean you are authorized to teach Tacfit, Kettlebell Foundation, or Hardwork, just because they are "RMAX products". The instructor level also means that you are not authorized to just whip up your own CST workouts and tell people that you are training them in CST.

    Hi Clavijo,

Thank you very much for clarifying and explaining that.

so, only if, in the future, there is a specific Primal Stress Certification program, where the Flow Physique, Revive Flow, and Thrive Flow programs are taught and tested, and an instructor passed that certification, then he'd be authorized to teach and train clients with those programs. correct?

also, it may be too early, but do you know how the Primal Stress programs compare to other programs like Tacfit Commando, Warrior, and Tacgym?

    thanks again.

There was some discussions in the forum on using Commando movements with the 6 protocol format. So that is how i see the Primal Stress program as.

    thanks, Herman.

I do hope there will be a Primal Stress type certification program for CST instructors in the future. I'm really liking what I'm reading about the program.

ok, I had another question about what CST Coaches are trained to do.....

I recently listened to an interview with Scott Sonnon, and basically, he said that CST Coaches can look at a series of moves or a workout, analyze it, then come up with appropriate mobility ( to prime the joints ) and compensatory moves ( to relieve the tension ) to match the workout. Or something to that effect. And, as part of the certification process, you are actually given a set of moves, then you are timed and tested to come up with corresponding mobility and compensatory moves. (Scott said that you are given 7 minutes, but CST head coaches can do it in 2 minutes )

Is that true? Is that in part what CST coaches are trained to do?

So, for example, if I'm a CST coach, and a client comes to me with a specific problem ( say.......shoulder issues ), I'd be able to "diagnose" the situation, then "prescribe" the right set of mobility, workout, and compensatory moves to address the client's needs.

Or, say an athlete or fighter comes to me. He'd like to keep his existing, sport-specific workout, but he wants to increase mobility, flexibility, and minimize injuries. So, as a CST coach, I'd be able to analyze the movement patterns in his current workout, and then come up with mobility and compensatory moves to "complement" that workout.

    Is all of that true?

Is that part of what CST coaches do?

    thanks.

Yes, that is part of what a CST Coach does. However, the first level of Certification in CST is not "Coach"; it's instructor. You would have to first become certified as an instructor, and then further develop your skill set to include the topics you listed before you'd be able to advance to the Coach level certification.
