Thread: CSTG with clubbells of various weights?

  1. #1

Question CSTG with clubbells of various weights?

    Hello,
I found that for some Circular Strength Training® Group eXercise movements 5 lbs clubbells feel just right, while for others they are too easy and I use 10 lbs ones. For one "spiral" exercise I even prefer a single 20 lbs Clubbell®.
Is it a normal practice, or CSTG workouts were designed and should be used with only one pair of clubbells?

If your technic is good and your discomfort is low enough of course you can.

I concur, Vladimir. I tried to use a pair of 15# through the movements (and can see where the 5# pair would be perfect) and felt it was just right on many of the movements. Actually, I liked the 35 for a couple of the moves. But I think how hard I go in varying will depend on what day of the cycle 4x7 I am in.
Clubbell® and kettlebell attempts. Critiques are welcomed:

    Relax. It's just practice.

I'm not doing CSTG regularly now, because I started BB Body Beast bodybuilding program two weeks ago and it's just too hard to combine. (Doing GMB Rings One gymnastic rings training three times per week too; btw. GMB is founded by another CST coach - Ryan Hurst. Doing indoor rock climbing twice per week.) But when I did I used 5lbs for most movements, 10 lbs for some, and 20 lbs for one.)
I'm now trying to do an easier Clubbell® Flow Evolution by Shane Heins using 5-10 lbs clubbells at least twice per week - as a finisher after rock climbing, yoga, or kettlebell work (TACFIT Kettlebell Speznaz).
    Life is short...
