    4CBD - Intu-Flow Advanced impediment

Having trained several weeks with Intu-Flow advanced I notice I am still unable to lock the right leg without straining due to calf, ham and glute tightness. I notice in Archimedes L2 I am practicing my knee pit eventually relaxes but starts out tight. However in every session with 4 CBD I still am not fully able to lock the knee.

So, question is should 4 CBD be sufficient to eventually release the back rear leg chain or are there any supplementary releases that can be done? This affects my karate and I get called by sensei to lock my leg whereas I now know I have an impediment....

    Thanks for any advice...

I could swear that in Intu-Flow® Beginner, Scott says something along the lines of "Height isn't important; knee lock is". If that is the case, why do Advanced?

It's hard to answer questions like this with limited information. Can you not lock at any angle? There are many ways to "release", but without have any specific clues, here is some general stuff: When performing the leg lift, try increasing core activation (tension) while imagining less tension in the hamstrings and other parts of the body. Make sure you are keeping yourself well hydrated. Do some body rolling/self massage before you try to "stretch".

Hello Cesar, on an open chain I did not notice this impediment, only when I started to do the advanced closed chain variant I noticed the back of my glute in particular tight. Thanks of your suggestions, the body rolling in particular might help, will try them. Regards, Mehmet

Coach Cesar, I now am able to lock my right knee fully. Back over glute is tight still but making good progress. Thanks again!
