looking to free built up tension in back

    Hello tribe

after having back trouble - mainly upper soft tissue between the shoulder blades( football injury) I am looking to really get deep into and remove the tension in my back, i mean really really deep. I am currently doing warrior wellness beginning program as well as some multi-planar arches nd various bridges - any help in this conquest would be much appreciated

    Coach,

My injury occured at a semi-lockout position with an oncoming lineman when we got tweaked as he tried to pass me to my right side as I was still facing forward. I aggravate anytime while doing high elbow exercises and while doing the bottom shoulder circle in Warrior Wellness as well, included is a tightness in the middle of my back - Rhomboids I believe while inhaling deeply followed by what i can only describe as a very sore muscle contraction, like DOMS. Also with this I feel limited in my range of motion in my upper back, as I try body flow, spinal rocks and shoulder roll et al. I feel this as well

So you absorbed the impact in the shoulder? Did you spin off, or did you absorb it while remaining fixed forward? Give me as much detail as possible. I need to get a visual on the shock of the impact.

How does it feel to do Arm Screws with the shoulder?

    Coach,

In two handed punch to the chest, me standing still, him oncoming and running, we collide in this manner and while holding on, he runs to my right side spinning my body right with him as I was still feet facing forward, much like an over-exxageration of the spinal twist in warrior wellness-beginner, and finishes with a whip and uncoiling of my hips and me falling to the ground

Second, I havent yet attepted the Arm screw

It doesn't sound like the bridges and arches will get the release you need, since the impact caused a rotational (coronal plane) defensive reflex and now bracing manifesting in your shoulder.

I suspect regular practice of the Body-Flow Arm Screw, Leg Thread, Leg Swoop and Stationary Tripod (twohanded) - all performed slowly, smoothly and to deepest range of motion should reach and release the tension chain.

thank you for your suggestions - I will get on those body flow movements as fast as I can..and I have also noticed that lately my back has been the biggest part of my body, obviously where im carrying that tension, I dont know why that was so hard for me to see?

    Amigo,

Read: Tension Blindness. I experience it anytime I have even an intense practice.
