Hello Tribe,
Since Christmas is a time of sharing I thought this would be the time to share my story. A couple of years ago I injured my pinky(tore tendon from bone) on the interphalangeal joint(the one that bends the finger). After about 8 weeks with a splint on it the Dr. said it healed. Now I couldn't even really bend my finger and I had no rehab. So, I decided to work it to get my strength and flexibility back. I was using KB's and it came around slowly and after a few months(maybe 6) I could bend it in half. I couldn't make a fist though and that bothered me. I decided to get those 15lb. clubbells back out and start using them again.
When I first received my 15's I immediately thought maybe I should have bought the 10's. I choked up on them and did CTO's but I forearms and wrists were extremely sore. Since I do a lot of repetitive work with my hands this concerned me. Now on my second go with them instead of every other day I gave myself more rest. Monday KB's, Wed. clubbells, Fri. KB's and start Monday with clubbells. This gave me more time to adjust and worked out great. After a few months I dropped the KB's and worked clubbells exclusively every other day.
By this time I noticed I could now make a fist and I was very happy. I started doing Mills and I really felt how weak my pinky still was. I moved up to a 20lb. and worked Mills, Swipes. After a couple months I didn't notice that weakness anymore. Moved on to a Bruiser which also helped with more strength and flexibility with my pinky. I can actually bend it far enough to touch my fingerprint to my callus on my palm! clubbells can heal! Thanks Coach Sonnon for everything.![]()
Merry Christmas,
Joe
