Tips for enhancing awareness of skeletal structure

Hi, i've been reading a book I bought years ago called opening the energy gates of your body by B. K. Frantzis with a view of trying to find parrallels with ww and bodyflow.

What I have discovered probably much later than you guys is that ww is bassically taoist chikung as they follow the same principles.

The interesting thing is the terms they use e.g instead of breathing movement and allignment, the toaists use breathing, movement and awareness.

What I think is bassically that they achieve the same goal but the chikung takes it a microstep further in trying to actually feel the bones themselves, i'm guessing if they are right we must have some kind of skeletal senseory system like for joints and tissue.

The only added benefit I see here is that with this skeletal awareness comes ability to influence the electrical capacity of the bone marrow thus energising the blood cells with life force.

NO, I don't think we should all switch to chikung, the results they get take decades to achieve whereas ww benefits start from day one.

If you wanna take it further slow down the movements, close your eyes and pay acute attention to the sensation in the skeletal structure as you move.

Another interesting thing I noticed is they say during taichi push hands that when you influence your opponents allignment you disrupt their chi energy.

Makes sense as ww opens up the joints and improves gait and carriage thus allowing the circulation and accumulation energy. Then when you practise rmax concepts you work on maintaining your structure while disrupting your opponents.

My question is does anybody else have tips for improving skeletal sense?

Bit of a ramble there, hopefully it makes sense :?

    Cheers.

Forgot to point out that with ww focus on allignment, there is a focus of awareness but just not to the same extreme as taoist chikung.

    Cheers.

    Morning Ed,

I believe "being mindful" and "listening into your movements" whilst doing your WW, BodyFlow etc, takes you quite readily into similar realms that Mr Frantzis and others explore.

    Glad you agree Randell.

Since I started doing that i've noticed an accellerated pace of improvement.

Can't wait for integrating structure to be released, I love the concept of electric jelly, should be interesting.

    Cheers.

I think and I may be wrong, but, the bones can be felt through becoming completely aware of the tissues surrounding them. If one can feel all the tissues around the bones, they can also feel the shape and movements of the bones.

This is definately worth doing just to get the extra feel for body position. Going through Warrior Wellness slow with your eyes closed is VERY tricky, especially when you get to anyplace with one leg raised. Serious balance wake-up call. When you've got the knack of that try opening and closing your eyes randomly or doing the dark room + strobe light thing. Amazing how much we depend on our eyesight.

I would first like to congratulate all of you for the amazing places you are going. For years we as chiropractors have been trying to preach the value of the millions of mechanoreceptors in the feet and the dangers of shoes, and to educate a mainstream understanding of the flex of bones and our awareness of them. Well done. One of reasons we use our eyes so much is because we have locked our feet down in prison. over engineered shoes. If you want to see true balance married with softwork you should see my blind friend. He had difficulties with balance and was very rigid. I encouraged him throuugh warrior wellness and then got him into some moccasions. He still runs into things but his reaction is no longer that of a rigid machine, he has begun to flow with his environment and his walk is no longer that of a blind person. he is also very bold to try things that are not conventional.

I applaud you all, good thread.
