A Call to Vote: RMAX in Top 3 Schools in the World!

I'd like to step out of my role as an RMAX Head Coach for a moment to bring something to everyone's attention, and to make a proposal.

I just received the following announcement in my Inbox:

    http://www.blackbeltmag.com/forms/ballot.cfm

On July 6, 2006, Black Belt will present the first annual Black Belt
Industry Awards dinner at the Martial Arts SuperShow 2006, to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas!

At this inaugural event, nine prestigious awards will be passed out for the
following categories as Black Belt honors the best educators, programs and business forces the martial arts industry has to offer:

    Best School Overall

    Best Traditional School

    Best Eclectic School

    Best Women's Program

    Best Children's Program

    Best Tournament

    Best Humanitarian Act/Event

    Best Televised Production

    Best Seminar/Training Camp

The voting will be a two-step process conducted online EXCLUSIVELY at
    http://www.blackbeltmag.com.

PHASE ONE is open nominations. Simply select your favorite schools, programs and products and tell us why in 100 words or less. Phase-one voting will begin February 23 and end April 22, 2006. CLICK HERE OR
<http://www.blackbeltmag.com/forms/ballot.cfm> ON THE TROPHY ICONS TO VOTE NOW!

PHASE TWO will be multiple-choice voting in which you pick your favorites
from a list of finalists. Voting will begin May 1 and end June 1, 2006.

Tickets and registration for this event can be purchased at:

The Black Belt Industry Awards are NOT affiliated with the Black Belt Hall
of Fame. Votes cast for the Black Belt Industry Awards will not be held in
consideration for Hall of Fame nominations
I think this is a great opportunity to recognize one of our own, the man whose hard work and relentless determination has brought us this Forum, these resources, and this system of training. The man who has given us all the opportunity not only to benefit from his work, but to internalize it and to contribute to its evolution.

I'd like to propose to the members of the Tribe that we act together to use these Industry Awards to get Coach Sonnon some of the recognition he deserves as the Founder of RMAX, truly the next evolution in health, fitness and martial arts.

Now, I don't know if this is "officially acceptable" here, I'm posting on my own behalf, devoid of professional role, simply because I'd like to give something back to a friend and mentor who has given me so much. If this is somehow inappropriate, I accept full responsibility for the posting.

And I hope I'm not embarassing ya bro. You truly deserve such a recognition and honour!

Whatta ya say, Tribe? Are you with me?

It sounds like a very good idea to me for a couple of reasons.

1 Scott does deserve the recognition.

2 If there is a good showing of support Black Belt will take more notice of RMAX (they are in the business of selling magazines and will be more interested in publishing articles about something that has a lot of interest)

    Let's go for it!

I think for the best seminar it might be best to choose one.

Regardless of whatever would happen with such an honorarium, thank you warmly Ryan for offering me such generous words, and thank you all of your support. I think you ALL, as individuals and as a community, deserve tremendous, heart-felt kudos and recognition for your daily acts of heroism.

best televised production? would that not be FlowFit®? i'm not sure why they used the term 'televised,' rather than video, unless there's a lot of public access training going on that i dont' know about.

(of course, I think he should just sweep them all... but what would the skeptics think then? mustn't move too quickly...)

I say go for it! It is great exposure for Scott and RMAX and I think more RMAX-related articles will educate and interest more people on a large scale.

Hit 'em with a bunch o' nominations.
