Flow is the rest period between heartbeats. This, in essence, allows you to access your own highest good. You, as an individual, simply don't get smarter than that. It is your "Genius Zone."

However, Steve and Scott realized that what is true of the macro is true of the micro.  What must be true in your body, your relationships or your career, is true in the other two.  Like the presence of Elliot Waves in the stock market, in the arrangement of stars in a galaxy cluster, in the shape of a nautilus shell, and in the architecture of our lungs, the Golden Mean is a universal resonance.

So, if you are imbalanced in any of the three arenas (body, relationship or career) you are out of the "Zone". That is, you have not yet accessed optimal input, output, focus, and flow.  This is the optimally functioning, peak performance: input, output, focus, flow. These four aspects, in balance, will put you into the Genius Zone, where every day you are producing ideas and actions that begin to spiral UPWARD in terms of average efficiency and excellence.  Optimal functioning integrates your cooperation between your body, relationship and career, and as a result your abundance in each one soars in balance to whatever height you chose to carry them.

How did Scott and Steve find the Path™?

Scott Sonnon writes: "For some time now, people have been asking me how I have managed to come out of a destitute, abusively terrorized upbringing, put myself through University, achieve world class recognition in martial arts and fitness, establish myself as an award winning inventor, author and producer, and create an socially-transformative organization composed of tens of thousands of instructors and athletes worldwide, who have brought RMAX to hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life. Even my most critical opposition will admit that I am the most prolific individual in my field, and it is that consistently high level of quality productivity over years which people have come to expect and want in their lives as well.

More importantly in my opinion, I've proven that what I've accomplished in my life is not an isolated event, but based upon consistent, repeatable and externally-verifiable, universal principles, though obviously through a proprietary system of unique methods and techniques. A famous swordsman, Myamoto Musashi, once wrote, "to master one thing, is to master 10,000." What I took from this comment was that going deeply enough into your diligent practice and study of any one discipline will give you the insights hard-wired into the Path™ of mastery of any discipline.

When I achieved an international level with one particular discipline, I applied it to several others and achieve the same heightened level of success in each.

I've had the honor of working with world class coaches, statesmen, digital tycoons, military leaders and corporate icons from around the world in many different fields, disciplines and sports. I discovered that they had made precisely parallel discoveries along their Path™ to mastery.

This congealed over the years and I actively helped others apply it to their disciplines; again with equal success in their physical vibrance, their vocational career and the strength of their relationships to their friends, family and colleagues.

That was enough external verification for me, but it wasn't until I met a man who has accomplished so much international success in his disciplines, that I began to see how this could be brought to every person, not just those who pursued physical excellence.

Steve Barnes writes: While teaching at UCLA, I accidentally discovered a `missing link’ between myth and human consciousness, a secret that has been hidden in plain sight for a thousand years.  This lead to the Lifewriting workshops, which were successful beyond my dreams.  But there was something missing, and despite the gratitude of my students, and the pleas to continue teaching the workshops, I couldn’t go on. 

It is said that you can awaken the Kundalini (Sanskrit for ‘intrinsic human energy’) starting with the heart, or starting with the body, but never ever from the ego/intellect.  And regardless of my intentions, that was what was happening.  I needed something that would change the physical energetic, and I decided to suspend teaching until I could find that thing.  Years passed, during which time I moved from Los Angeles.  I needed a slower-paced, less noisy environment to reassess my writing, teaching, and my life, and found it in Washington state.  While there, I heard stories of an incredible martial arts instructor named Scott Sonnon, and was encouraged to seek him out. 

Within moments after popping my first RMAX video, “Be Breathed,” into my VCR, I knew this was something special.  I ordered his “Flow State Performance Spiral” audio cassette, and listened to it more than fifty times, unable to believe what I was hearing: the clearest, most lucid exploration of the body-mind connection that I had ever encountered.  I had to meet Scott, and attended the inaugural CST training.  There, I confirmed my suspicion that there existed a home-grown genius in the arena of body-mind dynamics.  For the next three years I was blessed to be his private student and friend, and began to realize that if we overlapped our teachings, there was a dynamic synergy that was beyond anything I’ve ever seen.  Anywhere.
